Constant battling with weight
I know what constantly battling with your weight feels like. I started my first diet when I was 15 years old. It was a kick start for an eating disorder and yoyo dieting circle that lasted over 20 years.
I was bulimic for many years. There was nothing else more important than losing weight no matter what. I think there is no diet in this world I haven’t tried throughout these years.
I have counted calories, points, carbs. Nutrilett and other (disgusting) bags and bars are familiar to me. As well as juice fasting…and so on. I also was a vegan for about 10 years.
Scale = the enemy
The scale has played a very important part of my life. Mostly as an enemy creating huge anxiety. Thanks to eating disorder therapy I got rid of my neurotic habit to weigh myself every day. But I still didn’t feel good inside.
Results and failures
My body composition was yo-yoing a lot throughout the years. Sometimes I got ok results from whatever diet or training program I participated in. But they never lasted for too long. Fat didn’t want to give up and it always came back.
About seven years ago I had a coach tell me to go to see a doctor. She thought I might have some body issues caused by constant dieting.
This could have affected my hormone functions and maybe this could be the reason for me not being able to lose fat.
The adrenal fatigue
This doctor found my adrenal fatigue. Today, I still suffer from this condition.
It seemed to be the reason why losing weight was hard for me. I am sure it was part of the problem but today I know that I suffered something called insulin resistance.
Insulin resistance is the most common reason for weight loss problems and obesity. Unfortunately nobody told me about it back then.
Gaining more weight
Throughout the years I faced many stressful situations which lead to losing my (so called) healthy eating habits. I started to feel very bad about myself.
I moved to California in 2016 and I started to gain weight more than ever before. I returned to Finland in 2017 heavier than ever.
No matter what I tried to do, gaining weight didn´t stop. I gained about 20 kg (50 lbs) in one and half years.
By the end of 2018 I was heavier and felt worse than ever.
Keto diet and intermittent fasting
It was around the time when I first heard about Dr.Berg. He is an expert in Healthy Keto™ and intermittent fasting. You can read more about Dr.Berg here.
I had heard about intermittent fasting before but I had always thought that it’s a fad diet.
How could it work? If I don’t eat five times a day I will be hungry all the time! Besides, all diet instructions tell us that we should eat every few hours..
I had already tried keto diet earlier but didn´t ever reach my goals with it.
I remember everyone told me that keto will control your hunger, when I first started it. But it didn’t work out like that for me.
Once again, today I know that it was insulin resistance that kept me constantly hungry.
I still wanted to try keto since I loved the idea to eat tasty fatty foods. I didn’t have to count calories or force myself to the gym on this program.
I was really sceptical about fasting but I decided to give it a chance because I was desperate. I read lots of keto and intermittent fasting success stories which gave me hope.
I weighed myself for the first time in years and almost got a heart attack when I saw the number on the scale.
Starting keto diet and intermittent fasting
That was the kick for starting my keto and intermittent fasting journey in February 2019.
My first weeks were hard. Insulin resistance caused me constant hunger even if I just ate and my tummy was full. Day by day things got better and I started to lose weight. I lost 10 kg in two months!
I started to feel better both physically and mentally.
Anxiety and depression caused by weight was gone. I also noticed I had much more energy to walk with my dog.
I was full of energy and it was easier to focus on things I was working on.

I ended up losing 25 kg (55 lbs) with healthy keto and intermittent fasting in a year.
I had dreamed about becoming a health coach for a long time.
And what could be nicer than to become a certified keto coach?
But I had always told myself I can’t because I couldn’t even help myself. How could I be a good coach when I was overweight?
Thanks to healthy keto and intermittent fasting I finally made this dream come true!
How did I became a certified keto coach
When I heard that Dr.Berg provides keto coach training I knew my time had come. I participated in his training course and I became a certified keto coach in 13.4.2020.
At this point I had already helped my family and friends to lose weight with keto diet and intermittent fasting.
Now I’m here for you.
I will help you to start keto and intermittent fasting effectively. I will be by your side as long as you need. What I achieved, you can achieve as well. <3
